Joan's son Carl was one of the 343 firefighters murdered on 9/11. He was stationed at Ladder 2 Battalion 8 in Mid-Town Manhattan. He was 32 years old, killed while heroically attempting to rescue victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Joan is one of the co-founders of 9/11 FSA and the 9/11 FSA Foundation. She is well known by many members of Congress for her many hours spent lobbying on Capital Hill for, among other things, enforcement of our immigration laws, passage of additional legislation to secure our borders, and fight amnesty for illegal aliens. To educate the American public about the dangers posed to our security by illegal aliens and the unknown terrorists among them, she has appeared on many television and radio programs and spoken at many press conferences. She has testified before state legislators in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Hampshire, Utah, and New York and elsewhere.

She twice traveled to Germany to provide victim impact statements in the trials of two of the terrorists involved in the 9/11 attacks.

Before 9/11 she was a teacher of American Sign Language at The Seymour Joseph Institute in Staten Island and an interpreter for the hearing impaired at the Brooklyn Union Gas Co., religious institutes, hospitals, and for individuals. She also worked in the field of special education.

Bruce DeCell

Bruce's son in law, 28 year old Mark Petrocelli, worked for Carr Futures on the 92nd floor of the World Trade Center's North Tower. Bruce is a retired New York City Police officer who enforced the law even-handedly regardless of the race or ethnic background of those with whom he came in contact.

He co-founded 9/11 Families for a Secure America and the 9/11 FSA Foundation and has volunteered tirelessly in support of reforms that will protect Americans from future terrorist attacks. With his background in law enforcement he has a special insight into the dangers of allowing illegal aliens and the unknown terrorists and violent felons among them to enter our country.

Bruce has lobbied innumerable times on Capital Hill and state legislatures in support of securing our borders and denying the benefits to illegal aliens that act as magnets attracting them to the United States.

Although soft spoken he is a fearless spokesman for the victims of crimes committed by illegal aliens, whether they are the victims of terrorist attacks or street crimes.

Ed Kowalski

Ed Kowalski is a Director of the 9/11 FSA Foundation. His 17 year old niece, Elizabeth Butler was murdered in June 2005 by illegal alien Ariel Menendez. Menendez had prior felony and misdemeanor convictions prior to murdering Elizabeth.

Mr. Kowalski has volunteered part time since 2005 in the cause of securing U.S. borders against entry illegal aliens and the terrorists and violent felons who hide among them. Further, he has provided counseling and legal assistance to the families of crime victims of illegal aliens.

In his personal capacity he was instrumental in drafting key provisions of New York State Assembly Bill A10593 (Criminal Illegal Alien Deportation and Legal Hiring Act). He has organized numerous law enforcement symposiums and public hearings on the issue of criminal illegal alien activity. Recently, he has called for public hearings on New York State's potential homeland security breach by bringing forth the issue that New York has issued 23,000 drivers licenses to foreign visitors that occurred within the brief two month window at the inception of former Governor Spitzer's ill conceived and now withdrawn policy to grant driver's licenses to undocumented aliens.

He also recently testified before the Arizona state Senate in support of Senator Russell Pearce's efforts to eliminate state funding to those Arizona municipalities that have sanctuary policies in place. Sanctuary cities protect illegal aliens through local resolutions, executive orders or city ordinances.

Peter Gadiel

Peter Gadiel's 23 year old son, James, was murdered in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks while working on the 103rd floor of the North Tower.

He has volunteered full time since 2002 to help persuade government to secure America's borders, and for eliminating the magnets which draw illegal aliens to the United States including amnesty, the ability to work in the U.S., 'free' public education, 'free' health care, welfare, drivers' licenses, government guaranteed mortgages, etc.

He has lobbied many times in the US House and Senate, as well as in the legislatures of over twenty states. He has provided testimony to the Independent 9/11 Commission, and testified before Congressional committees and many state legislative committees. He has been a guest on many news and opinion programs on TV and radio including Lou Dobbs, Hannity and Colmes, Crossfire, and others.

He has forcefully confronted some of the most rabid supporters of open borders, including US Senators and Representatives of both parties as well as mouthpieces for hate groups like LaRaza or the Arab American Institute.
