9/11 Families and Friends:
I am including two links below. One is an article by Frank Sharry that appeared on the Huffington Post on January 6, 2010. The other is a link to a bio of Sharry on the website of "America's Voice," a group led by him. Sharry has devoted his career to keeping our borders open to the world's criminals and terrorists.
Sharry's column is like a catalog of the verbal tricks used by the pro-illegal alien lobby to camouflage their distortions and lies.
His first lie is the use of the word "immigrant" when he is speaking about illegal aliens. Next, he uses the code words "immigration reform" when speaking of amnesty. In that way Mayor Michael Boomberg is transformed from a pro-amnesty politician into an "immigration reformer."
Sharry goes on, packing a pile of lies into just a couple of sentences: “Down the road in Washington DC, New York’s Chuck Schumer is hard at work crafting a long overdue comprehensive immigration reform bill, one that combines smart enforcement with the legalization of undocumented immigrants... If enacted, this landmark effort, likely to spur a Senate debate this spring, would significantly curtail illegal immigration and restore America’s tradition as a nation of immigrants.
Calling an "illegal alien" an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a burglar a "house guest." What Sharry is saying here is comparable to saying that if we legalize burglary the crime rate will go down.
Chuck Schumer was one of the most important perpetrators of the 1986 amnesty, the one that allowed terrorists to remain in the U.S. so they could perpetrate the first WTC attacks in 1993. Schumer knows that amnesty leads to disaster for Americans. (For more on the 1986 amnesty see http://www.cis.org/1980sAmnesty).
Our nation cannot afford another amnesty. First, the government cannot possibly handle the case load of applicants without putting national security at risk. (The following link will prove this: http://www.cis.org/uscis-backlog )
Schumer is well aware that the 1986 amnesty, which he helped write, was a direct cause of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Thanks to Schumer a N.Y.C. taxi driver got a green card as a special agricultural worker and then was able to become a legal resident of the USA and was free to travel to Afghanistan and learn how to make truck bombs. Schumer has on his hands the blood of the victims of that attack, and now he wants to create more opportunities for criminals to prey on innocent Americans.
Schumer must know there was massive fraud in implementing the 1986 amnesty. Schumer and his fellow hacks told us 'only' one million illegals would be eligible but because of fraud, three million lawbreakers were made U.S. citizens. And along with other pro amnesty politicians, he billed this as a “one time” amnesty. Now more than 20 years later he's telling us to give amnesty to 20 million illegals (he says it's 'only' 10 million), a number that will turn into 20 or 40 million by the time family members are brought over to "reunite families."
There are more lies in Sharry's article. He says that amnestying illegals will somehow "curtail illegal immigration." That's the same promise Schumer, John McCain and Ted Kennedy made about the '86 amnesty, but they then refused to fund enforcement efforts and the result is now 20 million illegals.
I am tired of writing about this amnesty: the lies are the same but the difference is that every day the stakes get higher. Every illegal alien is someone whose true identity cannot be confirmed by our government, so when amnestied they obtain authentic "identity documents" with a name that may very well be a false one. Each former illegal is a national security risk.
Americans die because corporations, and ethnic lobby groups and politicians who pander to them, will benefit by putting their power and profits over American citizen’s human life.
Many of Sharry's lies are aimed at demonizing Suffolk County (NY) Executive Steve Levy because he upholds his oath of office. Levy has attempted to enforce the laws he swore to uphold against the illegal aliens who are present in large numbers in his county. The majority of these illegals are Hispanic day laborers who are a cheap labor force for greedy contractors, landscapers, and any others who conspire to violate our law. The bosses profit from this cheap "off the books" labor while the illegal aliens create enormous quality of life issues for the rest of the population.
The bottom line is they don’t belong in his county and the federal government isn’t doing its job of removing them, or paying the cost to his county so he is doing what he can to represent the people who elected him.
Sharry likes to use loaded words in an attempt to paint his victims as intolerant. He calls his opponents “nativist." That's the same term that the far left Hispanic newspaper El Diaro has called Mr. Levy, and then this "newspaper" accuses him of causing hate attacks by his immigration policies.
Sharry quotes the New York Daily news as saying that Hispanic “lawmakers” are organizing in opposition to a Levy gubernatorial candidacy. They have issued a statement alleging that Levy’s “past and ongoing policy positions on immigration have been blamed for biased-related attacks on immigrants living in Long Island and for fostering hate speech and intimidation of Hispanic students in schools.”
And this brings us back to the lies and code words that Sharry likes to use to slander those who are opposed to illegal immigration.
